The Burns Valley Elementary School students get to appreciate the garden during their breaks. They enjoy snacking on the cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and bell peppers. The cucumbers seem to be a favorite, especially when they are prepared with chili and lime! Not only do the students get to explore the food from the garden, but they also get to explore the bug life the garden has brought. The praying mantises are fascinating to the students, and all the garden spiders have been given names.
The sixth-grade class tends to the garden while the teacher reads to them. The teachers plan on utilizing the plant life in the garden to help teach the science classes. There are also plans of hands-on horticulture for the students as well! The garden at Burns Valley Elementary School is a flourishing learning opportunity for both students and staff.
